We Got a Messed up Memo

How come when life is stressful, we think we have to go into survival mode?
“I just need to get through this, and it will be better.”

How come we believe we can only thrive when things are “perfect?”

It doesn’t make sense.
Nothing is ever perfect. Especially not life.

When one thing changes, morphs, evolves, something else comes up.
Have you ever experienced this? Or said, “when things calm down, I’ll take care of myself.”

How has that worked out?

You can thrive all the time.
And you can define what thriving means for you.

You don’t have to live in survival mode. Suffering is optional.
It’s a messed up memo – this idea of balance and easy.

Let’s re-write it.

Let’s breathe and invite ease.

Let’s be centered and invite wisdom.

Let’s take care of our mental and physical well being.

Whatever is going on in your life – because we all have struggles (I see you and honor that) –
And
I want to tell you, it’s time to thrive.

Yes, it’s your time to thrive.

Many hugs,
Laura

P.S. I didn’t make up the term “memo” in this use. It came from a chapter in Glennon Doyle’s book Untamed, which I highly recommend. ?

50 Is Here! How To Choose To See Your Own Strength

I’m so excited… my 50th birthday is this Wednesday. 🥳🥳🥳 Time is such an odd thing to comprehend. It’s fascinating how our brains can remember something so clearly from childhood or when a memory from 10 years ago feels like it happened “just yesterday.” We all know...
