Are You a Champion of your Body?

Hello Reader!

It’s been awhile since I’ve sent a message. I took a break from writing because I was at capacity. As my schedule at the gym increased I’ve had a lot less hours at my desk.

I’m deeply thankful and wake up excited every day to get to do what I do. And yet, with early mornings and longer days I found I needed to recalibrate, create new routines and be more judicious with my energy, so I gave myself permission to stop sending out emails.

But dang, I missed it!! I’ve still had my personal writing and journaling time, but there’s something about sharing ideas and thoughts and musing that brings something to life. And I’ve missed the interactions with you. The emails people send back about what’s going on or how something resonated.

As I was contemplating 2025, I knew without a doubt I wanted to start this back up. And I sure hope you’re happy to have me land in your inbox. 😊

I’ve been thinking a lot about capacity… I think one aspect that makes the holidays challenging is that we are “fully booked,” but yet there is always one more thing to squeeze in. It’s no wonder we end up using adrenaline to get through it and then the week after is a blur as things “settle down” (🙄whatever that means in our current society).

I know for me, I’m going into this next year wanting to be more discerning, realistic and perhaps methodical about my energy and my time. This isn’t to lessen magic, creativity or to put a cap on myself – it’s actually the opposite.

I want to have capacity for my purpose and my passion(s).

I want to notice and pivot when I’m in busy mode, when tasks and distractions are taking over and taking me away from what I care about.

My word of the year is PURPOSE.

… and my purpose is to inspire people to be in their bodies in fantastic, energizing ways!!!

Yeah that’s an ambiguous statement, but what I know is that most people are disconnected from themselves from the neck down. We live in our heads, thoughts and anxiety. When it comes to our bodies, we’re generally complaining about them or disparaging them; talking about what hurts, how it’s not the ideal and how something doesn’t fit or doesn’t look right.

Rarely are we champions of our physical selves. Rarely do we enjoy movement, breath and pleasure (eating, sex, dancing!) without some kind of caveat.

I already live my purpose every day – I help people get stronger in the gym. They do things physically they never thought possible. This brings them joy, confidence and so much mental resilience. It helps them prioritize their health and well being beyond “getting in a good workout.”

I’m also teaching meditation classes at The Chakra Healing Room – there’s one next Tuesday, Jan 7 at 6:30, click here if you want to find out more or to register. It’s such a powerful experience to be guided in stillness and breath. It’s the complete opposite of the gym, as far as activity, but similarly it’s something that spills over into how you do everyday life.

Both are ways of being IN THE BODY. Both are ways of harnessing your own energy and purpose…

If you’re curious about meditation, join me on Tuesday or here is a short, guided meditation for you that was part of my virtual training program. If you try it, I’d love to know what you think. (There’s no video, so you can just pop your headphones in and close your eyes!).

What’s next?

I’m not sure! More emails to you! 😉 Definitely training in the gym and I’ll be teaching the first Tuesday of every month at The Chakra Healing Room. I’ve taken a break from virtual training for a bit, as I’m relishing getting to be with others in person.

I don’t feel like I need to have it all figured out right now. Winter is still a time of gestation for me.

What I do know is that I want the day-to-day activities to reflect my purpose… less about “crossing things off the list,” and more “does that reflect my priorities?” Writing to you, Reader, is something that has purpose and value for me.

I’d love to hear what you’re thinking about. If there are any topics you’re interested in me expanding on, just hit reply and let me know. Thank you for your attention. I’m glad you’re here.

May you be a champion of your body. May you enjoy movement, breath and pleasure. May you be happy to have received this greeting.

Many hugs!
